Personality & Traits

General Overview Emony grew up as a Starfleet brat, her parents both served and she grew up on ships and starbases. It instilled her a sense of duty and pride in the Federation and Starfleet, but the scars of the Dominion War and internal strife made it clear it needed protecting, eschewing her family's tradition of sticking to more intellectual fields, which did see her rejected for a symbiote. Studying threats and occasionally acting on them, her career has a lot of [REDACTED] in it, but between the lines shows someone who knows that action and inaction are both valid options, and can get (metaphorically) into the minds of some of those she is watching. It's in a stark contrast to what she will say Starfleet should be - focusing on exploration and the final frontier, but in her way, that is her sacrifice, giving that up for herself so that others may do so.
Strengths & Weaknesses Emony is quite intelligent and she can handle herself in a fight, but she is also in a struggle to protect the Federation and stay out of the morally questionable. Starfleet Intelligence tends to have a bad reputation, particularly thanks to Section 31, but morality does tend to take a back seat in the shadows. For her, there has to be a better way, but sometimes, better she do the dark deed than someone else.

This tends to lead some to believe she's an amoral thug at times, but this is also her burden to bear, as it means someone else doesn't have to sacrifice their ideals.

Emony also has a talent at reading her opponents, getting into their heads and thinking like them. But this isn't 100% foolproof, as a talented enemy could use that against her and it also relies on her having enough of a profile to predict such things.
Ambitions If the young Trill had her way, she'd get the Symbiosis Commission to reverse their decision, grant her a symbiote, and maybe take on being head of the Directorate of Operations in her later years. Maybe from there, the actual Director's chair.

But that's in the distant future and only a slim chance of all that happening. For now, doing her job and doing it to the best of her abilities is her immediate concern.
Hobbies & Interests Outside of her work, Emony studies history and has picked up lately with artistic pursuits, such as music and painting. Often times, she will use her holodeck time to generate places she can try to paint or concerts of various styles of music to attend. She plays the piano and the guitar well enough.

Personal History Born on Starbase 11 in 2362, Emony's parents were Starfleet personnel. Her father was a xenobiologist and her mother a warp field specialist. She would grow up being bounced from station to ship and back again with them, never settling down until the Dominion War broke out when she was 11, where her family ended up staying on Mars for the duration of the Dominion War. Her mother would remain at Utopia Planitia, but her father would continue to serve until 2380.

In 2380, Emony was accepted by the Symbiosis Commission as a candidate but was failed due to her psych profile showing her inclination for actively protecting the Federation, something the Commission saw as a liability. But this did earn her both a slot at Starfleet Academy and a recruitment offer by Starfleet Intelligence. On the surface, she was training for the Security/Tactical track, graduating in 2384. But her parents were quite surprised when she came home not in Operations gold, but in Intelligence grey.

Emony's first post was at Starfleet Intelligence Headquarters, additional training as a field analyst. But she was quickly reassigned after the destruction of Mars the following year, due to her personal connection. Both of her parents and her brother were unaccounted for early on but later were found to be on Trill for First Contact Day. But she would be posted to several assignments for field operations and then to ships as a liaison officer.
