Mission:
Mission 0: Have Wings, Will Fly
Location: Sickbay
ON
Needing to step away from the office for a spell, Temperance Harding heading along the corridor of Deck 12. Having a new Chief Medical Officer onboard would be a major benefit, as so she had wanted to come down to see the new doctor, and make sure her own medical records were up to date in the process.
Heading through the doors, the commander surveyed the area before her. She had spent way too much time in medical facilities - recovering from serious retinal damage was enough for a life-time. t always had a ... too-clean scent to the air.
Hope stepped out of her office when she heard someone enter and gave a smile "Welcome to sickbay Commander" she noticed the pips when she first saw the woman.
"Thank you, Doctor. I trust the facilities are to your liking?" Temperance offered a warm smile, wanting the woman to feel at ease.
"Oh yes ma'am" Hope smiled "fine facilities and staff here in sickbay" she relaxed a little bit "We are ready for launch and whatever we run into" blinking a few times she smiled again.
"Excellent. While I was down here, I thought you might like to get my medical check done with?"
"Oh of course" Hope said surprised that a Commanding Officer had come down to sickbay to get this done. With a smile on her face she gestured toward one of the bio beds "you are feeling okay ma'am?"
"As can be expected." Temperance slid herself onto the bio bed. "I had an accident about four years ago while flying. I was patched up, but the vision wasn't quite what it is required to be, and I lost my pilot's flight status."
Hope saw just that in the medical records and the Commander took her place on the bio bed. "I mean is anything bothering your now, Commander?"
"Oh..." Temperance offered an embarrassed smile. "No, I just thought since I was down here, I might as well get the scan over and done with."
"Well I can't tell you how much I appreciate that" Hopes southern drawl coming through "I had to chase my last Commanding Officer to his ready room and practically sedate him" she giggled. "Of course that's just a joke" the Doc smiled trying to make the Commander feel at ease.
"When I was on my command Training Cruise on my last ship, the official captain - my evaluating instructor - he was a real burr about medical exams. I swore I'd never let myself turn out that way."
She smiled "Well Commander" Hope put up the tircorder "looks like you are fit for duty."
Sliding off the biobed, Temperance gave the doctor a broad smile. "Thank you. Before I depart, were there any questions, concerns, or requests you had for me?"
"No ma'am:" she paused "sickbay seems to be operational ready" Doctor Ross was thrilled to find the sickbay in the order she found it.
"Very well, Doctor, I shall leave you to your work. With a last nod, Temperance bid her farewell, and made her exit out of Sickbay.
