Mission: Mission 0: Have Wings, Will Fly
Location: USS Endurance

At this point in her career a new assignment wasn't a big deal and Doctor Ross smiled as she entered the main entrance of the USS Endurance. There were a few junior officers lined up at the foot of the biobeds all standing with their hands folded behind their backs and staring at her as she entered. "At ease y'all" Ross said and the next hour consisted of meeting her staff and making sure sickbay was in order. She found no issues with sickbay and really enjoyed meeting her medical staff.

Hope left sickbay around seven, once she felt she could tell the Commanding Officers the department was ready for launch. She carried a few PaDDs with her as she entered her quarters, she tossed them down on the table and moved over to unpack some of her personal items. Unpacking and sipping on a glass of wine was the perfect end to a very busy first day. She could say that so far she was rather impressed by the Endurance and her department.

After slipping into a comfy robe and switching to a nice cup of hot tea, Hope took a seat on the sofa and started with her PaDDs. "Oh yay" she smiled seeing a message from her daughter. Taking a sip if tea and getting comfortable before opening the message.

Mom,

I hope you are settling in nicely on the Endurance. The Nebula Class has been one of those trusty classes so you shouldn't have any issues. I don't have to worry about you making friends and you are a great doctor so these people are lucky to have you. I can't believe classes start tomorrow and me and Tiff are roomies again... We are so excited... Anyway let me know how your first day is and if your new boss is nice.

Hugs,
Jess

If a quick text message was all she could get out of her daughter she would be happy with it. They tried to talk whenever they could, but sometimes a few sentences was better then nothing at all. "I love ya kiddo" she said out loud as if her daughter could hear her and took a few more sips of her wonderful tea. The staff in sickbay really seemed to know what they were doing and seemed like that might have a decent bedside manner.

In the morning she would report into to sickbay like normal and make sure things were running smoothly and report to the Commanding Officer. Then it was the start of the crew physicals, she knew most of them hated it, but it was mandatory and sometimes saved lives. "I wonder how many will complain" she thought to herself and smiled finishing off her tea she leaned back on the sofa and started in on the reports she needed to read. Doctor Ross tried to stay as up to date on all reports and special reports from Starfleet Medical as she could. It was important to keep up with disease research and new studies, procedures and technologies.
