awaiting Endurance

Lieutenant Christine Childers finally at Starbase 48 after leaving the Tomcat had not long departed for her new mission, but she had been given a shock of a lifetime, after six years as an Ensign aboard the Tomcat, she was now a Full Lieutenant and had even jumped a grade. Although what she had been through these past few years and had seen would have made her weep which some of it had. Now here she was awaiting her new assignment the USS Endurance.

Although she did not know what perch she was due to have on the ship, she did know that it was a Security position as she found herself temporary quarters; as she looked around the bare room knowing full well she was not going to be here long, she placed her duffle bag on the floor and sat down on the small sofa. She thought to herself oO at least I get some extra R&R time, Oo as she had a lot of it mounted up.

The first thing she would do was check out the station’s facilities and make use of them before the ship docked although the station was a Stardockclass in orbit of Cestus III, she thought to herself oO this would be a good time to get some new casual clothes OO as an event of retail therapy was in order. But first, she just wanted to relax after such a long journey from Starbase 51. As she rested her head back against the soft couch, Christine started to feel sleepy, and as her eyes closed, she started to dream.


-4 hours later-

As Christine woke with a start looking around the room she remembered that she had been transferred and was awaiting her new assignment, she rose from the sofa rubbing the back of her neck trying to get the crink from her neck where she had laid awkwardly she walked over to the replication unit and ordered herself a cup of tea.

She started to wonder who Jessica had her sights on next after she had left the Tomcat as she smiled at the thought of some poor woman being asked if she would help her burn her out, as she had with Christine, shortly after her drink had arrived, Christine picked it up and took a sip of the hot beverage and boy did it feel good. But now was the time for her to call home.

As she walked over to the terminal and opened a channel to Earth as she started to think about the time difference when the screen changed to that of her adoptive sister Rebecca.

“Hey Rebecca, how’s you, Sis?” asked Christine as she smiled at her

=/\= I’m fine, I got posted to HQ for a few months until they think I’m ready for space assignments,=/\=replied Rebecca as she gave a smile back, she asked =/\= So, why are you calling? =/\=

“Well, At the moment I’m at Starbase 48 awaiting the USS Endurance as its new Chief Security officer,” replied Christine looking at her as she continued” with the rank of Full Lieutenant,” with a big smile on her face.

Rebecca looked back at her and said =/\= you mean I have to call you Ma’am now as you outrank me?=/\= with a chuckle as she knew that being six months behind her after what had happened to her, Rebecca finished =/\= Congratulation, Chris, you deserve it, I’ll let Mom and dad know as they are asleep at the moment,=/\=

“Ok, take care of yourself, Rebecca,” replied Christine

=/\= And you Sis, good luck on you're new assignment,=/\= replied Rebbeca as she closed the channel leaving Christine alone once more as she thought to herself oO Lets go and see what Brasserie are open Oo as she rose from the chair and headed out of her quarters and go exploring the station.
