Departure Ahoy

Mission: Mission 2: Chasing Shadows

Timeline: After meeting with the Captain

After returning from a successful mission word had come in that her immediate posting back to SFHQ on earth had been granted, before that though she was called to see the Captain who was finally told about her reassignment so there was now some transport from the Endurance as they were currently unable to dock as this was her second attempt at being a First Officer and once again it failed. When this had become clear she realised that the Command track was not for her, along with the posting back to earth she was allowed to transfer back to Security.

She wasted no time as she started to pack her items, realising that she had the same amount of stuff she had when she arrived. This would make sense as you would need time to build up stuff and she had not yet the time to do this, she paused in her packing and sent word to security to have the weapon she came aboard with removed from the ship's inventory and then packed away for transport.

Returning to her task out came her carry-case and she began to put her off-duty clothes into the case, it was a small one as she did not have much to start with. Excluding the breaks, she took for eating it took her three hours, her shuttle was leaving in the morning so she left a change of underwear out, the case had a section in it for last-minute dirty items. Now, all set she set about contacting her father.

She opens up a secure channel, it is her mother who answered =/\= Hi Mum, where is pops? =/\= she asked surprised, her mother looked at her with sorrow.

=/\= Oh honey, your father has had a heart attack and he is currently at Starfleet Medical, we found him on the floor in the ceremony hall a few days ago =/\= her mother responded.

oO oh crap! Oo Andi said to herself =/\= how bad was it? =/\= she asked clearly worried at this news.

=/\= Very bad sweetie, are you able to get time off? =/\= Allesandria Shiomi said.

=/\= That was why I was calling, things are not working out for me here, I requested an immediate recall to SFHQ and it was granted, I will even be transferred back to Security by my own request, twice I have tried to be a First Officer and twice I have failed in that task I will be glad to return to security I think, less hassle =/\= Andi responded.

Her mother studied her over the screen Allesandria knew her daughter was hiding something from herm but the girl kept it all I'm it would be doubtful that she would ever talk about it, so she accepted things as they were =/\=I see, anyway as soon as you get home we will go see your father =/\= Allesandria said knowing even with the fastest transport it would be at least a week =/\= when is your transport due to leave? =/\= she asked.

=/\= 6 am in the morning =/\= Andi answered and her mother nodded.

=/\= Get home as soon as you can sweetie =/\= her mother responded.

=/\= I will mom, love you and give Pop a kiss from me and let him know that I will see him as soon as I get back =/\= Andi said.

With a final smile, her mother nodded and signed off, the moment the line was closed and went into full panic mode for unfounded reasons.

When she closed the link she returned to packing and then had one final look around, she exited her quarters and headed to the shuttle bay where a shuttle waited to take her to the nearest Starbase and from there to earth "Security here I come" she said to herself as she entered the nearest turbo lift and when the doors closed "Shuttle bay" she said and the lift took her to her requested destination.

- Shuttle bay - The Next Morning -

The moment the lift opened Andi stepped out onto the shuttle bay and headed to the nearest transport bound for the nearest Starbase, as she walked up the ramp and paused at the top she looked around "no I was never meant for command" Lightfeather said and sighed as she entered the shuttle.

After a lengthy flight check, the pilot got permission to depart, and so with mixed feelings, Andi left her second command post knowing some officers were not meant to be First Officers, then she realized how many security updates she had missed out on and sighed "learning curve here I come!" she exclaimed quietly.
