Introductions

Posted on Sat Jul 10th, 2021 @ 9:19pm by Lieutenant Commander Hope Ross MD & Lieutenant Scott Mitchell "Ghost"

Mission: Mission 0: Have Wings, Will Fly
Location: Deck 12 - Main sickbay

Doctor Ross and the rest of the sickbay staff had been doing physicals for the new crew all day. She had heard at least a dozen times how much they all hated having to come to the med bay for their physicals and how they could be spending this time making last minuet adjustments or doing something in their department. She was now in her office finishing up a few reports and as there was no need for a real night shift while the ship was still docked, she was the only one left in the med bay.

Scott had just finished his review of the fighters for his new squadron and was on his way to the next errand in a long list that needed to be completed. "Well, might as well get this over with," he remarked out loud as he grabbed a PADD off his desk and beginning the trek to sickbay. The doors to sickbay opened with the customary hiss as Scott entered the room and noted the toned down lighting reflecting the time. Scott did a quick scan looking for a medical officer before spotting the new Chief Medical Officer in her office. "Hey Doc, here's my medical records. If you need anything else just call." He spun on his heels hoping to make a quick escape.

Hope stood from her desk quickly, grabbing the PADD as she followed Scott. "No so fast" she insisted and glanced down at the information she had in her hand. "As I'm sure you are aware a medical examination is required" she paused as she caught up with him "for all new crew members."

Scott stopped as the Doctor caught up to him and hung his head in defeat. He knew his feeble attempt at making a quick escape had failed. Scott took in a deep breath before speaking, "You know doc..." He turned his head, flashing a smile "You're absolutely correct. Where do you want me?"

Hope was surprised at his change of attitude and gestured to one of the bio beds. "It wont hurt and it wont take to long" her southern accent really coming out.

Scott walked over to the indicated bio bed and hopped up, "Take your time doc, I've got all night." Scott didn't necessarily like doctors but understood their necessity.

Hope almost rolled her eyes "Promise not to take up to much of your time" she was trying to make light of the situation and get this over with for the Lieutenant. She found him attractive, but he acted like your typical pilot.

"AH!" Scott hissed and the doctor began to her examination. He noted the shocked look on her face and let a large smile form on his face and laughed, "Kidding Doc. So tell me Doctor Ross, what brings you to this particular corner of the galaxy, well other than orders of course."

As she scanned Lieutenant Mitchell she paid attention to the tricorder but answered him "Honestly I just want to do my part." After a short pause Hope looked up from the tricorder "I'm good at what I do and I love it" the doc looked back down at her scans.

Scott nodded, "I get that. For me it was a chance to get back into the cockpit. I somehow managed to be the personal liaison officer to an Admiral, which basically means I was his personal coffee getter and shuttle pilot."

"I'm sure that was a complete waste of talent" Ross smiled as she finished up the new medical scans

Scott noted she had closed the tricorder she had been holding, "Well Doc, am I cleared to fly?"

"You're good to go" Hope smiled and gave him a quick nod.

Scott jumped off the biobed, "Thanks Doc, I'll try to stay out of here the best I can." He turned and began to walk out the door.

"Usually a good idea" Hope replied and started toward her office.
